Robert J. Shiller is Sterling Professor of Economics, Department of Economics and Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics, Yale University, and Professor of Finance and Fellow at the International Center for Finance, Yale School of Management. He is ranked among the 100 most influential economists of the world and received the 2013 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences. Through his extensive research, he is widely acknowledged as a leading expert on financial markets and related investor attitudes and thinking. He was the recipient of the 2000 Commonfund Prize, awarded for Best Contribution .to Endowment Management Research, for his book ‘Irrational Exuberance’
The Investor Behaviour Project at Yale University, under the direction of Dr. Shiller since its beginning and now under the auspices of the Yale International Center for Finance, has been collecting questionnaire survey data on the behaviour of US investors since 1984.
He was elected President of the American Economic Association for 2016 and writes a regular column "Finance in the 21st Century" for Project Syndicate, which publishes around the world, and "Economic View" for The New York Times.
