Dr. Jarmo T. Kotilaine

Jarmo Kotilaine joined NCB Capital, Saudi’s leading independent Investment Bank, as Chief Economist in May 2008. Before moving to Bahrain, he worked as Associate Director, Financial Services at Control Risks Group (CRG), a London-based international business risk consultancy firm. Prior to that he headed the Financial Services practice area of Oxford Analytica’s consulting division.

Jarmo Kotilaine studied economics and economic history at Oxford (BA/MA), Cambridge (MPhil) and Harvard (AM, PhD). He subsequently joined the faculty at Harvard where his primary focus was the long-term economic and institutional development of Eurasia as well as on international trade. He is a member of the Harvard Society of Fellow.

Dr. Jarmo Kotilaine examines the impact of the changing economic environment, providing his unique viewpoint to show that it will demand more careful differentiation between markets and put a premium on pre-investment research and planning.
