Brigadier General (Res.) Ephraim Lapid is one of Israel's leading authorities in Public and Military Affairs, Middle Eastern current affairs and Jewish life. He has had a rich career in military and public service, public affairs, management and education.

General Lapid served as a Senior Intelligence officer in the Israel Defense Forces (I.D.F), I.D.F. Spokesperson , an instructor at the National Defense College and Commandant of Israel Army Radio, Galei Zahal .

After retiring from the Israeli Military he served as a senior official in the Jewish Agency, where he was responsible for the Agency’s Public Affairs. He was also Director General of the Media Information Center and the Director General of Ulpan Akiva, a unique international study center for the Hebrew and Arabic languages and cultures.

Brig. Gen. Lapid is a member of the Board of Directors of a number of civic organizations and the author of numerous articles on Communication, Education, Defense and Intelligence Affairs. He is also a lecturer of Communications at Bar-Ilan University.

Ephraim Lapid holds a B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic from the Hebrew University, an M.A. in Political Science and a teaching certificate.

In his book "Israel s Silent Defender", thirty-seven essays have been compiled written by experts and leaders of Israeli intelligence, among them high-ranking analysts and J2s, commanders of human intelligence (HUMINT), signal intelligence (SIGINT), visual intelligence (VISINT) and open source intelligence (OSINT) units, and heads of the Israel Defense Intelligence (IDI), the Mossad and the Shabak.

As during the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, eleven Israeli athletes were killed, the officer Ephraim Lapid was 29 years old. He was among the intelligence staff who organized later that retaliatory actions are brought by Steven Spielberg's controversial film Munich back in the limelight.
